Organized and funded collaborative programs in stroke, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, vascular and cardiovascular, body, musculoskeletal, interventional and intra-operative imaging, as well as functional MR imaging (fMRI) and surgical robotics are ongoing.
Funding to support our current research programs is provided by Alberta Advanced Education and Technology, Alberta Innovation - Health Solutions, Canada Foundation for Innovation, Canadian Institutes for Health Research, Canadian Stroke Network, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, the Faculty of Medicine at The University of Calgary, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, NWT and Nunavut, Hotchkiss Brain Institute (via the NeuroImaging Research Unit and the Hopewell Professorship in Brain Imaging), Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, National Science and Engineering Research Council and National Institute for Health (United States).
In addition to the clinical research focus of the Seaman Family Centre are the complementary imaging research activities of the Experimental Imaging Centre and the Imaging Informatics Laboratory, located in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Calgary; and the Stephenson Cardiovascular MR Centre, located in Foothills Medical Centre, Alberta Health Services.
